Little Green

While I was staying in New York last week, I took a tour of the Rubin Museum, where I met Chun Yu, a Chinese poet (and sometime biochemist) whose first book, Little Green, recounts her experiences growing up during the Cultural Revolution.
After the tour, we went out for a late tea, talked about books and writing, Buddhism and Taoism, and my near-total ignorance of Chinese film.
We also discovered that we seemed to be living in parallel orbits. Like me, she's an erstwhile Bay Area type who packed up and went virtual, putting all her things in a storage locker and wandering around the east coast for a while ... where somehow we ended up crossing paths on a Monday afternoon, staring at a roomful of Siddhas.
