Featured Projects
Over the years I have worked on a number of interactive projects as a designer, researcher and team leader. Here are a few of my favorites:
The Long Now Foundation
I was honored to have the chance to work with the Long Now Foundation, where I helped redesign The Rosetta Project, a global collaboration between 2000 linguists and native language speakers to create a contemporary Rosetta Stone.
New York Times on the iPhone

The assignment: Design and build a fully-functional iPhone application for the New York Times in less than 6 weeks. This was one of those stressball projects that came together at the 25th hour, but I was happy with the way it all turned out.
Times People
A new tool that allows readers to share NY Times articles with each other via a toolbar that runs atop the site. We tried to avoid falling into the YASNS (Yet Another Social Networking Service) trap, keeping it as simple and utilitarian as possible.
Rollyo

Working with my friend Dave Pell and a small team of developers, I helped to create the world's first roll-your-own search engine (nominated for a Webby award in 2006).
Kasparov vs. Deep Blue

In 1997, I executive-produced the live Web coverage of the historic Deep Blue vs. Garry Kasparov Webcast (winner of the 2007 Cool Site of the Year award).

From 1995-1999, I managed the user experience team at IBM.com, where I oversaw three major redesigns while building the group from zero to a twelve-person integrated team of talented designers, writers and researchers..
