If I were in San Francisco tonight, I would surely make my way to Cafe du Nord for the final performance of the Ask Dr. Hal show.

Without Dr Hal (a.k.a. Harry Robbins, Reverend Howland Owll, and/or Perditus Pedale), who will ponder such polymorphous perplexities as: "Why is 70s porn better?" "When is the angle of the dangle equal to the heat of the meat?" And, "Who would win in a fight: Abraham Lincoln or Jerry Garcia?"

Among my proudest moments was the night Chicken John invited me to join the good Doctor onstage for a complimentary shot of Frenet. What was my question? It seems like it hardly matters now ...
