Ed Chi and co. over
May 15, 2001
Ed Chi and co. over at Xerox PARC have been doing some interesting research on the information foraging on the Web - complete with a catchy tagline, "the scent of information" - an ecological approach to studying how users look for information. While the Theory of it all sounds a bit inflated (a little tenure-fodder, perhaps?), there are some interesting tidbits here about the study of cognition as it applies to Web usability. CNET has a good high level summary, or go to the source at Ed Chi's personal site.
