I'm happy to report that one of my first projects at the New York Times has finally launched: TimesMachine, a new tool for browsing our public-domain archives from 1851-1922.
The launch has been delayed for several months due to legal/contractual issues well beyond my control. It's not my place to go into these issues in any detail, but the long and short of it is that TimesMachine will be available only to home delivery subscribers - at least for now.
In the meantime, I'm taking the liberty of posting a few screenshots here (click to view larger images):
